The area provides access to a large shopping arcade, hotels and also the famous dining area “Knutsford Terrace”. At present, the junction of Kimberley Road / Nathan Road is a black spot of traffic accidents and pedestrian congestion is observed in the area near the Hotel Miramar and the entrance stairway to “Knutsford Terrace”. To improve pedestrian safety and pedestrian congestion, the improvement measures include conversion of two-way traffic to one-way eastbound at the road section (between Nathan Road and Carnarvon Road ) and signalization of the pedestrian crossing across Kimberley Road near Nathan Road . With the one-way traffic arrangement, additional space can be made available for footpath widening and tree planting. Upgrading of paving and street furniture will also be carried out in the project.
