The 8th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Planning Forum 2025

about us

On 13 September 2025, the 8th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Planning Forum was held in Shenzhen, with “Urban-Rural Symbiosis, Natural Scenery” as one of its themes.  The Director of Planning, Mr Tom Yip, led the department’s delegation to attend the forum and share with experts and scholars from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao our planning work on “urban-rural integration” in the Northern Metropolis.

The Northern Metropolis is an area rich in historical, cultural, and natural resources, and the delegation’s sharing covered efforts devoted to multiple fronts, such as urban-rural linkages, harmonious integration, infrastructure enhancement, cultural heritage and cultural tourism development.  These endeavours aimed at optimising the use of rural resources and transforming them into edges for development, with a view to achieving “urban rural integration” and fostering “urban-rural co-prosperity”.
