The Annual National Planning Conference is an academic summit and annual flagship event of the town planning community in the Mainland. It is held in rotation in major cities in early autumn every year. Since 2006, the Planning Department has been sending representatives to attend this event. On 7 to 9 September 2024, the Director of Planning, Mr Ivan Chung, led a delegation to attend the Annual National Planning Conference 2024 held in Hefei City of Anhui Province, where the delegation introduced to our Mainland counterparts the Northern Metropolis Action Agenda and the development proposal for Lau Fau Shan – New Digi Bay, and learned about the prevailing hot topics and challenges in town planning.
