The Annual National Planning Conference, held in different cities each year, is an annual flagship event of the town planning sector in the Mainland. Since 2006, the Planning Department has been sending representatives to participate in the conference. On 29 to 31 August 2025, the Director of Planning, Mr Tom Yip, led a delegation to attend the Annual National Planning Conference 2025 held in Shenyang City of Liaoning Province, where the delegation introduced to our Mainland counterparts on the challenges currently facing urban revitalisation in Hong Kong and elaborated on how the government, through policy initiatives as well as innovative mindset and approaches, encouraged multi-stakeholder collaboration in urban revitalisation to overcome the existing constraints.
