In 2025, the Planning Department (PlanD) continued to participate in the Civil Service Exchange Programme jointly organised by the Civil Service Bureau and Mainland municipalities. Starting from mid-December, six senior officers from Shanghai, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Wuhan and Shenzhen were posted to PlanD for professional exchanges. They took part in a series of activities arranged by PlanD, including site visits to various developments/locations in the territory (e.g. Northern Metropolis, Kai Tak Development Area, West Kowloon High Speed Rail Station, East Coast Boardwalk, and several redevelopment or conservation projects in old districts). They also attended briefings on diverse planning topics in Hong Kong. During the exchange, they actively shared their experiences in the Mainland and engaged in insightful discussions on a range of topics with our colleagues.
