Looking Ahead
Tseung Kwan O has undergone tremendous changes since its designation as a New Town in 1982.
With the implementation of planned projects for housing, GIC facilities, infrastructures and other
developments, it is envisaged that the New Town will continue to grow in the forthcoming decades. In
planning for the New Town, a balance between development needs and other planning considerations will
be maintained to ensure achieving a liveable and sustainable environment for those who live and work in
Tseung Kwan O.
