Community Facilities

In Tsuen Wan New Town, various community facilities are planned and developed with reference to the
requirements stipulated under the Hong Kong Planning Standards and Guidelines for provision of medical,
education and community facilities to serve the local residents.

Apart from the provision of primary and secondary
schools to meet the increasing population in the New
Town, there are also tertiary institutions including
Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi)
(Figure 26).

Tsuen Wan Town Hall, Kwai Tsing Theatre and 13
community halls have been built for the provision
of cultural and social activities in the New Town
(Figures 27 and 28).

There are public and private hospitals together with
general clinics/health centres providing medical
services to the general public (Figure 29).
