Urban Design Study for The Wan Chai North and North Point
Harbourfront Areas

The Study aims to examine how the Wan Chai North and North Point Harbourfront areas

can be enhanced to promote accessibility, diversity, identity and vibrancy on the land and
the water, and to reconnect people to the water edge as a step forward from the Wan Chai
Development Phase II Review. The public and Harbourfront Commission (HC) have been

closely engaged during the course of the Study.

Stage 2 Public Engagement was completed in August 2016. HC members’ advice and views
on the proposed Harbourfront Enhancement Proposals (HEPs) have been sought at the Task
Force on Harbourfront Developments on Hong Kong Island Meeting held on May 29, 2017
and October 10, 2017. In response to HC Members’ comments, refinements have been
made to the HEPs and broad technical assessments on the refined HEPs are conducted.
