Planning and Design Study on The Redevelopment of Government

Sites at Sai Yee Street and Mong Kok East Station - Feasibility
Study

The Study aims to examine the development potential of Government sites at the junction
of Sai Yee Street and Argyle Street adjacent to Mong Kok East Station for a comprehensive

development including commercial/office/hotel, open space and/or Government/
institution/community facilities, and to make recommendations to enhance the public
realm and public transport facilities in the area. The Study commenced in March 2015 and
public consultations on the proposed

development options were conducted
from March to June 2016. Views from
the Yau Tsim Mong District Council
(DC), Town Planning Board (TPB),

stakeholders and the locals were collected
and duly considered. The DC and the
TPB were briefed on the recommended
development scheme formulated under

the Study in November 2017 and 12
February 2018 respectively. The Study
was completed in March 2018.
