Survey on Business Establishments in Kowloon East 2018

To better understand the profiles of the business establishments in different types of premises in
Kowloon East, their choice of locations and operational needs, the Department commissioned
this statistical survey in February 2018. Findings of this survey were released in early 2019 and

uploaded onto the Planning Department website at https://www.pland.gov.hk.

Development of a Common Spatial Data Infrastructure – Built
Environment Application Platform – Feasibility Study

Given the government’s drive to transform Hong Kong into a world-class smart city, the better

utilisation of spatial data applications to facilitate policy/decision making is crucial for the
development of a ‘Smart Government’ and smart city. The development of a Common Spatial
Data Infrastructure (CSDI), which would spur integration of spatial applications and data,
would serve as an enabling infrastructure to support smart city initiatives.

With built environment applications as an integrated component of CSDI, the Department has
commissioned the feasibility study on ‘Development of a Common Spatial Data Infrastructure
– Built Environment Application Platform’ (CSDI-BEAP) in March 2018, which aims to

formulate an overall development framework for the BEAP and to recommend applications
