Planning and Engineering Study for Replanning of Tseung Kwan O
Area 137 - Feasibility Study

Jointly commissioned by the Department and the
CEDD, the Study aims to take forward the replanning

of Tseung Kwan O Area 137, with a view to making
optimal use of the site for residential, commercial and
other possible uses. Preliminary development options
supported by broad technical assessments are being

formulated.

Pilot Study on Underground Space Development in Selected
Strategic Urban Areas

In February 2018, a Design Ideas Competition of ‘Pilot Study on Underground Space Development
in Selected Strategic Urban Areas’ was held, with the main objective to encourage youth

participation in the planning and design of potential urban underground space development(s).
The competition was well received with almost 30 entries of design concepts for underground
space development. Five groups of young professionals and students were commended by

the Department and CEDD for their outstanding ideas for the potential underground space
development at Kowloon Park in Tsim Sha Tsui West Strategic Urban Area. The prize
presentation ceremony was held at the City Gallery on August 16, 2018.
