In May 2015, the Department commissioned the ‘Planning and Design Study on the

Redevelopment of Government Sites at Sai Yee Street and Mong Kok East Station – Feasibility
Study’ (the Study) to explore the redevelopment potential of and conduct a comprehensive
land use review for the government sites and the surrounding areas including the Mong Kok

Government Offices (MKGO) and Mass Transit Railway (MTR) East Rail Line Mong Kok
East Station (Figure 2).
