Design Considerations
Mong Kok Identity
Mong Kok is one of the major shopping areas and entertainment destinations for locals and
tourists, rich in traditions, characters and vibrancy where array of markets, small shops and food
stalls along street-fronts can be found (Figure 3). The area is also a popular entertainment and
gathering place for the youngsters, providing wide choices of restaurants, cinemas, karaokes
and billiard parlours, etc. Sitting right next to the Mong Kok East Station, redevelopment of
the Site will serve as a new landmark and gateway to Mong Kok east and foster the identity of
Mong Kok as a tourist, shopping and entertainment destination.
